The polling for the election of one member to represent Petane riding in the Hawke's Bay County Council takes place to-morrow at tho Petane school-room between the hours of 0 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mr Monteith sells at tho Horse Bazaar at 1.30 p.m. to-morrow 28 AVanganui-bred horses, besides hacks and trap horses, girls' saddles, horse covers, chick wheat, bran, potatoes, ire. Tenders for obtaining about 6000 cubic yards of metal on the Omahu-Kuripapanga road must bo sent iv to the Hawke's Bay County Council office, Napier, by noon tomorrow. Tenders for quarrying 300 cubic yards of metal at To Aute will be received by Messrs Couper and AA'arren, Havelock, not later than to -morrow. Messrs Magill and Campbell's genuine cheap salo of drapery and clothing commences to-morrow. Mr A. Bryson has 500,000 feet of sawn totara, whito pine, and matai timber in stock at Tikokino and Napier.

Parker, junr., socretary to the School Commissioners of Hawke's Bay, invites tenders for the lease of section 1, Block VIII., Pohui survey district, for a period of twenty-one years. The School Commissioners for Hawko's Bay will offer for lease by public auction for twenty-one years, on Thursday, July 19, four " Napier town sections (education reserves) at the upset rentals per annum specified. Mr R. H. Robinson, of the Cheap Drapery Shop, being overstocked, is offering a discount of 20 per cent, off: regular prices in several lines.
