FOOTBALL MATCH.

A football match between sides chosen alphabetically from members of the Napier Football Club was played in Clive Square on Saturday afternoon. Team A to L was represented by the following :— Anderson, Black, Cotterill, Chissel, Garrard, R. Hunter, T. Hunter, and LoQuesno ; and team M to Z by Norris, Robjohns, Stronach, Stubbs, Thornton, Wake, and Walker. The respective captains were Cotterill and Norris. The game was played in four heats of twenty minutes each. Black and Anderson scored touches for Ato L side, and Walker and Thornton two touch-downs each for M to Z, a goal being kicked off Walker's first touch-down. M to Z side thus won the match by a goal and three tries to two tries (or seven points) on the other side.
