THE "DUMMYISM" QUESTION.
Dunedin, This day. The AVastc Lands Board had the " dummyism" question under consideration again yesterday. Three purchasers at the recent sales attended at the meeting and applied for their licenses. The Board crossexamined them at some length and agreed to determine tho applications next Aveek. A telegram avjis received from the UnderSecretary for Lauds, stating that Mr Rolleston AA-as" entirely in accord Avith AA'haf he understands to be the determination of the Board in the matter. A letter avms also received from Mr Gillibrand, in Tasmania, stating that he had advised the Messrs Young, of Tasmania, to settle in Ncav Zealand, and that desiring them for neighbors he advised them to take up land near Cottesbrook station. He avus convinced thoy Avould make frugal, industrious farmers, such as the Government of Ncav Zealand desired. The tAvo men, John and Nichol, avlio applied last Aveek for licenses for their purchases at the sale Avere granted them.
