FIRES AT DUNEDIN AND NELSON.
Donedin, This day. A four-roomed cottasre in George-street, owned by Mrs Brooks, Avas totally destroyed last night. The fire avus caused by a match beiu-r thi'OAvn atrain.st the curtains of a Avardrobe. The house was insured in tho Isorwieh Union Office for £'200, and the furniture for .£2OO. Nelson, This day. At about half-past 3 o'clock yesterday morning a fire broke out in the Thistle Inn, Bridge-street. The building was gutted, but the adjoining property Avas uninjured. The only occupants were the owner, Mr George' Adam, and his sister, rvho were awakened by the sound of burning Avood, and had only just sufficient time to es jape. The building was insured in the Colonial office for .£250, and the stock and furniture for £200 in the Liverpool, London, and Globe office. The cause of the fire is unknown.
