SUPREME COURT, WANGANUI.

Waxgaxui, This day. Tho half-yearly session of the Supreme Court was opened this morning before His Honor Sir James Prendergast. A hoavy calendar was presented, there being thirteen charges, including manslaughter, perjury, indecent assault (2), breaking and entering, housebreaking, child murder, stealing from a dwelling, assault with intent against Europeans, and also charges of wounding, perjury, stealing, and larceny as a bailee against Maoris, Hcnui for stealing from the the person, Tui Matiha for larceny as a bailee, Elizabeth Jacks for stealing from a dwelling, and John O'Douald, for housebreaking.! Tui Matiha pleaded guilty to the charge of larceny, and was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment.
