Hokitika, This day. A remarkable case Avhich is to be heard shortly in Banco in Christchurch is exciting groat attention and interest hero. The plaintiffs are Air Seddon, M.H.R., Air H. R. Rao, County Clerk, and Air M'Lcan AA r att Jack, ex-Mayor of Hokitika. Tho defendents arc Messrs Taylor, AYarner, and NancarroAV, of Greymouth. Tho plaintiffs claim to bo legally elected members of tho AVestlandaßoard of Education by amajority of votes, and they pray the Court to oust the defendants oa tjie ground that they aro

not properly returned. It is alleged in numerous affidaA-its that after four commutes had A-oted, and sent their Azotes to the office of tho Board, they became aAvare how other committees had voted, and they Avere induced to give a second vote, obtaining from tli" secretary to the Board tho first A-otes given, thus altering the Avhole election. Sonic astonishing statements aro made in the affidavits as to tho steps taken to induce the committees to act in this Avay by tho defendants. The papers in the case are most A-oluminous. They have boon prepared by Mr Purkis, solicitor, of this town. The plaintiff's have retained Messrs Harper and Button, of Christchurch, to conduct their case there.
