AVanganui, This day. A shocking fatal accident occurred on Saturday afternoon. AVilliam Kerkwood, licensee of the Red Lion Hotel, in shooting at a pigeon on the hill-side at the back of his hotel, hit his son, seven years old, and riddled him with shot, some going through the heart. The little boy died in a quarter of an hour. It Avas a breech-load-ing foAvling-pieoe and No. 4 shot. At the inquiry held this morning into the cause of the above the jury found a verdict of "accidental death caused by gunshot AVOUllds."
