BURGESS ROLL, 1883-4. rp HE following extract from "The JL Municipal Corporations Act, 1870," is published for general information: — "Clause 40.—The Toavu Clerk of every Borough shall, on or before the 31st day of AIARCH in each year, make out from the Rate-book a list to be called the "DEFAULTERS LIST," of the names, arranged in the alphabetical order of their surnames, "of all persons aviio have not then raid all the rates avhich on or before the 31 st of december previous they avere then j liable to ray." " Clause 41.—The Toavii Clerk of CA-ery Borough shall, on or before the 31st day of AIARCH in each year, make out in tho form iv the sth Schedule, from the Valuation Roll, a list to be called the "BURGESS LIST," containing the names of all persons arranged in the iilphabatical order of their surnames, Avhose names appear on the Valuation Roll, "omitting therefrom THE NAME OF EVERY PERSON AVHOSE NAME IS ON THE DEFAULTERS LIST."
