The insurances on the late fire are as follows :—Nicholson, commission agent, £50 on stock; Spiers, bookseller, £50 on house and £150 on stock and furniture ; AYoods, baker, £200 on house and £300 on stock and bakery plant—all in the Imperial office. A policy of £200 in the Ncav Zealand office on the Masonic Hotel, owned by Air S. J. Pollock, had run out three days previous to the fire.
