WAIPAWA MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Friday, March 30. (Before Messrs Hcrrick and Inglis, J.P.'s.) ABOMINABLE OFFENCE. G. Allison was put forward charged by thepolice with having committed an abominable offence at Makatoku ou the 17th instant. At the request of the police the prisoner was remanded till April sth. ARSON. John Jones was brought up ou remand charged with wilfully burning a hut or house, the property of Mr D. Gollan, Mangatarata station. The evidence of Messrs McDonald, Storah, Ward, Barbb, aud AA*att Avas taken, that given by the witness AVard having a more direct bearing ou the case than the other CA-idence, as AVard deposed to prisoner confessing to him that he (prisoner) had set the place on fire because he could not obtain employment, and wished to be sent to gaol. Prisoner was committed to take his trial at the Supremo Court criminal sittings to be held on the 11th of June next.
