HAWKE'S BAY STOCK AND STATION EEPOBT. Februaky, 1883. During the last fortnight of this month tilings have decidedly improved, as we have had some splendid shower*!. In fact, the la.it week of wet weather has made a great change in the aspect of the country, the grass having , sprung up in every direction, making it look more like spring than early autumn, and the grass will get a good start before the frosts come. Owing to large blocks of country being taken up in Poverty Bay and Pologa Bay a large nuui - her of sheep have left for those districts and a large number are bought for delivery next month. There has been a good demand for prime fat wethers-, and we have been able to place a large number at from 12s to 13s, according to weight and time of delivery. In store wethers several lots have changed hands at satisfactory prices. In crossbred ewes there is « good and increasing , demand, and we have placed a large number during the month. Merino ewes are selling well, and young sheep are very scarce. In wethers there is very little demand, except for young sheep, and there are very few of them in the market. There is not much doing in cattle, but a deal more enquiry during the last fortnight, and I expect to sec them selling well during iiext month.
