THE GOVERNOR'S TOUR IN THE SOUTH.—ARRIVAL AT DUNEDIN.
Dunedix, This day
The Governor arrived here at 6.40 last evening, and was met by the Mayor, civic dignitaries, and M.H.R.'s. Last night the city was a> fete in honor of his arrival, and fully 12,000 persons were in the streets to witness the fireworks display by the firemen in the Octagon. Mrs Peter Trcsder was knocked down by the horses in the Governor's carriage, and was seriously hurt. The accident was caused by the horses being frightened by the fireworks. The Governor's levee was largely attended this afternoon. His Excellency afterwards inspected the Hon. George McLean's stud, and to-morrow looks at the harbor works.
