AUCKLAND.
This day. The native owners of a large block of land south of Kihikihi in the King country applied to Mr Bryco for a survey to detcrmino th j title. The natives acquiesced in a trig, station being erected on the land. The Presbyterian General Assemby have adopted resolutions to the effect that it _is not desirable to continue negotiations n Ith the Otago Church re union. At the Presbyterian Assembly the following resolution .i.s carried on tlic motion of the Rev. Mr Gillies :—" That it be remitted to the Church Property Committee to take such legal opinion as they may deem to be desirable on the question whether the General Assembly can lie legally incorporated or not, and. Avhothcr such incorporation would iiiA-olve the church in my difficulty or complications, audit so what Avould they be; and in accordance ivith advice given that a bill be prepared to be submitted for consideration at the next General Assembly." M. Cesarc has made an arrangement for introducing thirty Maltese, Avhosc passages are partly to be paid by the Maltese Government.
