A child named Overend, ten months old, the daughter of a farmer at Templeton, died yesterday through being severely scalded by a cup of hot tea. The returns of the Resident Magistrate's Court show that during ISS2 2017 males and 583 females were taken into custody, summoned, or apprehended for criminal charges ; 272 males and 05 females discharged for want of evidence ; 379 males and" 50 females dismissed on the merits of the case ; 65 males and 75 females committed for trial; SIS males and 300 females summarily convicted ; number charged with drunkenness 056, against 628 in 1881. In civil business the aggregate amount sued for was £43,384 13s lid.
