RECHABITE DISTRICT MEETING.

AVellington, Monday. The District Council of Rcchabites opened this morning. The last meeting having been held in February, 1881, the reports, kc, covered a period of tAY'o years. The meeting haling been opened in due form by the D.C.R., the reports of the district officers and of the .superintendent of the jui'cnilc branch ivere read. The former stated that the financial positiou of the Order had improved. Three ucyv tents had been opened, but tYVO tents, at AVaimatc and Rivcrtoin had ceased to exist. The total number of tents Yvas23 of males and 2 of females, the membership of these being 709 benefit and 63 honorary. This shows an increase of 31 members. In the course of the report a tribute ivas paid to the memory of Bro. the Rev. J. B. Richardson, who ay'us lost in the Tararua.
