FIRE AT ONEHUNGA.-ESTIMATED DAMAGE £3000.

Auckland, This day

A fire broke out at Onehunga at 2 o'clock this morning in the premises of Mr J. McMahon, general dealer, and destroyed likewise Melntyro's iron factory, and Vause's buildings, used as offices by the Mauukuu Steam Navigation Company. The ori"in of the fire is unknown. The damage is estimated at over £">OOO. The only building tenanted was McMahoirs. who woke -with a sense of suii'oeation. The insurances are— McMalion's building, £300 in the South British office ; stock and furniture, .£2OO in the Colonial office. Melntyrc, £1800, divided between the Standard and National offices. Vause, £200 in the Standard office on the building. Mclntyre estimates Ms loss at £3000.
