THE HARBOR BOARD ELECTION.
[To the Editor of the Daily Telegraph.] Sir—As the time for the nomination of three members of the Harbor Board is drawing nigh, it behoves those interested at the Spit to look about them for a representative. The three retiring members have not stated if they arc willing to sit again. It is quite clear that the Pot must be dredged out to give accommodation to the small craft if we are to have wool vessels inside, and I should like to hear the Spit representative state emphatically that the first thing to be done by the new board will be to authorise the works at the Pot to be carried out according to Mr Saunders , proposition. I hope you, Mr Editor, will endeavor to infuse a little life into the matter, and rouse up some of our hitherto apathetic merchants to take more interest in the representation of our local bodies. —I am, Sec, Argus. PortAhuriri, January 31, 1883.
