[by cable.] London, January 25, Consols are quoted at 102 : J, a further advance of one-quarter. The bank rate to-day is reduced to 4 per cent; the market rate remains at 3i. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £12,100,000, an increase of £1,000,000 since last Thursday. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 41 per cent. For Australian hides there is at present only a limited demand. Prices are Is 8d to Is Id lower. Adelaide, January 2G. Wheat, 5s 2d, with market quiet aud little doing. The local demand has been satisfied. Forty thousand bags have been bought for February delivery, and the same quantity of New Zealand Tuscan wheat, bought at Is 9d, is now afloat. Town flour £11 10s, and country brands £10 10s to £11. In freights there is nothing doing for steamers to London; for sailing vessels to London the quotation is los nominal.
