Christciiuiicii, Yesterday. The slander case of Paxton v. Stead has been concluded, nearly the whole of the day being occupied in taking the eA-idence of the defendant. Counsel addressed the jury at great length, and Iris Honor haA-ing summed up, the jury returned a verdict for plaintiff, with £100 damages. Great interest was taken in the proceedings.
