DUNEDIN.
This day. Mr John Fleming, of Duncdin, has purchased the racehorse Idalium for 200 guineas. Tho immigrants nominated here during the past month number 103 souls, equal to 90 statute adults. Thomas Traccy, an elderly man, was found dead 011 the Kaikorai Valley road. He had ruptured a blood vessel in the chest. Ernest Frame, an ordinary seaman belonging to the ship AVcstlaud, has been drowned at Port Chalmers whilst bathing. The Peninsula election is causing great excitement, and it is generally believed that there will be a close rim between Messrs Larnach, and Donnelly. The latter had a large meeting on Saturday night, at which Messrs Ban-on and Fish were the principal speakers.
