PORT OF NAPIER

DEPARTURES

January. 17—Manaia, -p.s., for Wairoa. Passengers —Misses Kraeft and Fletcher, Messrs J. Davidson, Jackson, and thirteen others.

The p.s. Manaia, Captain Baxter, left for Wairoa at 5.30 a.m. this day taking a full cargo and seventeen passengers. The Union Company's s.s. Southern Cross leaves Gisbome to-night, and is due here by daylight in the morning. She will be brought inside to discharge her cargo, and at o o'clock on Friday afternoon is announced to steam for Wellington.

The s.s. Sir Donald, Capt. Quinlan, is to leave for Blackhead to-night, with a cargo of timber and other goods. The ketch Lucy James is_ loading up with timber and fencing- posts for Gisbome, and will be sailing at an early date.

The Union Company's launch Boojum, Capt. Maloncy, is to leave for Wairoa at G o'clock to-morrow morning.

Messrs Shaw, Savill and Co's chartered barque Coromandel, Capt. Hendry, now wants but a few hundred bales to complete her cargo, and will be a full ship during next week.

The barque May Queen, Captain Colville, now in Wellington, has we learn, completed her ballasting, and will be sailing for this port within the next few days. She has a quantity of original cargo for here, after discharging - which she will succeed the barque Coromandel on the berth for London.
