The variety of the amusements to be enjoyed at Pctaue, the excellence of the hotel accommodation, the garden, the plantation, the tree shaded fields, the river, and the unceasing devotion of Air A'illers to the comforts and enjoyments of lii.s visitors, made this place the best holiday attraction of any to be found within easy resh of town. Between five and six hundred people were out there yesterday, and there woidd have been another hundred or two if there had been any means of getting there, but, nntwo of Air A'illcrs' coaches horn de combat, and the others got filled up with passengers before they reached the centre of the town. Those who succeeded in getting to Petanc thoroughly enjoyed ■themselves in taking part in or in watching the sports, the archery matches, skittles, lawn tennis, kc. The Mowing are the results of the several events :— Maiden Race, 150 yards.—First prize, £2, A. C. Norris: second prize, 10s, F. Stohr. Bagpipe Competition.—First prize .£2 ; second prize.-CI.
