The mail edition of the Weekly MebCUitY will be published to-morrow morning, and copies may be procured from the agents and at the oflice of the paper. The illusionists, Messrs Kellar and Cunard, appear for the third time to-night at the Theatre Rojal. The Paki Paki races come off to-morrow, the first race starting at 12.30 p.m. Tho train leaving Napier afc 11.30 a.m. runs as far as Paki Pakij arriving afc 12.25 p.m. All claims against the barque Waikafco must be rendered to the local agent of the New Zealand Shipping Company, Mr Balharry, by noon to-morrow, or they will not be recognised. An election of two duly qualified laymen to serve as members of the Church of England General Synod of the Province of New Zealand for the Diocese of Waiapu takes place to-morrow. The Artillery and Rifle Volunteers parade for inspection in front of tbe Athenreum tomorrow evening, when all arms on issue must be on the ground. A meeting of the members of tho Napier Christian Temperance Association will be held in St. John's school-room to-morrow evening to organise the association. Mr Milner Stephen leaves for Wellington on Saturday, and returns to Napier in three or four months time. Mr Monteitb, at his jewelllery sale on Saturday, will dispose of an iron safe by Phillips. The steamer Manaia makes an excursion trip to Wairoa on Saturday night, returning on Monday evening. A cold collation, with hot tea and coffee, can be had at the Railway Hotel, Kaikora, from 7.30 a.m. until the departure of the late train on New Year's Day. Messrs Hoadley, Lyon and Co. hold their monthly stock sale at Hastings on Thursday next, when 4800 well-bred sheep and 85 head cattle will be submitted to competition. James Bushell is requested to communicate with his sister, Mrs J. Gigge, Hastings. Mexican silverene, the best substitute for real silver yet introduced, can be obtained only in New Zealand afc Goodson's London Arcade. The Union Company's new steamer Tarawera leaves Port Chalmers for the annual excursion to the West Coast Sounds on or about the 10th February. On Thursday next Mr Eyan will sell by auction afc his mart, the balance of the fancy goods remaining from the recent sales. Messrs Neal and close clear their tables next week, and are giving away thousands of picture calendars. The Town Clerk directs attention to section 4 of the Dog Registration Act, and announces that the registration of dogs within the Borough of Napier commences on the Ist proximo, the fee being payable to Sergt. Walker at the Police Oflice. Mr F. Waldron, Puketapu, offers £1 reward for tho recovery of a bay horse lost from Waima. Woods' iron and quinine wine as a remedy in cases of nervous debility, loss of appetite, &c, stands unequalled. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " Wanted " column.
