The grand spectacular opera " La Fille dv Tambour-Major" will be presented at the Theatre Royal to-night for the last time. A special train runs from Hastings calling at intermediate stations, and coaches leave Meanee and Taradale, all at 7 p.m., to convey persons desirous of witnessing the last performance of the opera. The first of Mrs Hampson's evangelistic services will take place in the Wesleyan Church this evening at 7.30. Court Pride of Napier, Juvenile Foresters, holds its half-yearly meeting in the Forester's Hall, Dickens-street, this evening at 7 o'clock. A meeting of the members and subscribers to the drum and fife band takes place at 8 o'clock. The office of the Permanent Building and Investment Society will be open from 7 to 8 o'clock this evening for the receipt of monthly payments. Investment shares of the fifteenth issue can now be taken up without the payment of back subecriptions. Accounts against the Horticultural Society's late show must be sent in to the hon. sec, Mr Margoliouth, before noon tomorrow. Tenders will be received by the Loan and Mercantile Agency Company at GHsborne tomorrow for the purchase of the freehold, or leasehold for twenty-one years, of about .15,000 acres of land in the "Waimata South and East blocks. A four horse coach leaves Petane for Napier to-morrow evening to enable residents to be present at the performance of " Patience " at the Theatre. The meeting of property owners in Emer-son-street, re the widening of the street, previously convened for Thursday evening, will now take place on Wednesday evening at the same time and place. On Wednesday Messrs M. R. Miller and Potts will sell by auction, at Beecroft's yards, Hastings, a number of superior draught horses, hacks, &c. Messrs Banner and Liddell's next skin &c, sale will take place on Wednesday, December 13. Mr A. Cooper, Waipawa, has a baker's shop and oven, with dwelling attached, to be let in that township. Messrs Blythe and Co. have a new stock of choice silk coats, and are offering black alpaca paget coats at reduced prices. The New Zealand Shipping Company's ship Waikato is now on the berth loading wool, Ac, for London. Mr D. Balharry is the local agent. The programme of the Waipawa Athletic Club's annual sports, to be held in MiBaker's paddock, Waipawa, on Boxing Day, is published. The annual meeting of the Hampden Racing Club will be held at Hampden on Thursday, December 28, the programme and conditions of which will be found in another column. lodized sarsaparilla, prepared only by W.
