Second performance of "La Fille dv Tambour-Major by the opera company at the Theatre to-night. A special private train runs from Waipukurau this afternoon, returning after the opera is over. The Napier Volunteers muster for inspection in front of the Athenreum at 7 o'clock this evening, for inspection at 7.15 p.m. The horticultural show will be open this evening from 7 to 10.30 o'clock, and from noon to 5.30 p.m. to-morrow. Messrs Monteith and Co. will sell the draught horse Campsie by auction on Saturday, unless redeemed. The quarterly meeting of St. John's Branch, H.A.C.8.5., will be held in the usual place on Wednesday evening next. Messrs Banner and Liddle, agents for the Union Insurance Company, have money to lend in sums to suit borrowers on freehold security at current rates. Edwards' three-horse brake leaves Woodville at 7 a.m. every Monday for Makatoku, returning on Tuesday after the arrival of the train. Claims against the barque Norman M'Leod must be sent in to the agent, Mr Balharry, in duplicate, by noon to-morrow, or they will not be recognised. Messrs Monteith and Co's weekly auction sale of stock ancl produce will take place at the Horse Bazaar, as usual, on Saturday. Messrs Blythe and Co. are opening 19 casea, bales, and trusses of new goods. Mr W. E. Woods, pharmaceutical chemist, Napier and Hastings, informs the public that owing to increase in business, he has determined to reduce his scale of charges. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " Wanted " column.
