At a further meeting of Singer's creditors to-day it was agreed to accept a compromise of 8s in the £, half cash, and the balance in four months. Debts of upwards of £10,000 were produced. George B. King, Town Clerk of Lawrence, was found dead in his office on Monday night. Oblorodyne was in his possession, and he had been drinking very heavily. At the inquest the jury found that death was caused by asphyxia, accelerated by inadvertently taking an overdose of chlorodyne.
