Repetition of the opera " Patience " by the Tambour Major company at the Theatre Royal to-night. An excursion train leaves Hastings for Napier and intermediate stations, returning after the opera. The quarterly meeting of the members of the Napier Chamber of Commerce takes place in the new premises adjoining the Athenceum to-morrow at 3 p.m.
Messrs Banner and Liddle's first wool sale of this season will be held to-morrow at 2 p.m., at their Spit stores.
The Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, acting under instructions from the Native Land Settlement Company, hold an important sale of land (small farms) at Gisborne to-morrow.
The rate of 3d in the £1 >on all ratable property in the Havelock Highway District is payable to-morrow.
We remind those interested that claims against the barque Wave Queen must be rendered in duplicate to Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. by noon to-morrow, or they will not be recognised. Claims against the barques Langstone and Norman McLeod must be sent in to their agents, the former by noon on Wednesday, and the latter at the same hour on Thursday, in duplicate, or they will not be recognised. The monthly inspection of the Napier Volunteers takes place on Wednesday evening in front of the Athenseurn.
Additional prizes are offered for e-hibits at the Horticultural Society's show, which will be opened at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Entries will be received till 6 p.m. to-mor-row.
A list of subscriptions received by Mr Levi in aid of the persecuted jews in Russia is acknowledged. The list will close on Thursday next.
Messrs Pointon and Gray invite tenders for painting and paperhanging an eightroomed house at Rorokipo. Crown lands in the Waitara, Maungaharuru, and Pohui survey districts will be offered for sale for cash by public auction at the Council Chamber, Napier, on Wednesday, February 28th next.
Furnished board and residence is wanted by a single gentleman.
The steamer Oreti leaves for Gisborne and Auckland to-morrow at 3 p.m. Messrs Blythe and Co. quote prices for flower baskets.
