CHRISTCHURCH.

November 23

The executive committee of the Kailway League decided last evening to raise subscriptions to defray the expenses of the League. A report on the whole of the East and West Coast railway question was drawn up for presentation to the Commission. A long resolution was passed expressive of disappointment at the inability of the Commission to take the West Coast line into consideration, and asking the Governmest to either appoint a new Commission or extend the scope of the present one.

Four drunkeD shearers on a spree bailed up the railway station at Waikara yesterday, and created so much disturbance and annoyance that the police had to be sent for. Two were arrested, but the other two had escaped before the police arrived.
