A disgraceful riot occurred at the Theatre Royal yesternight. Ben Allah, the conjurer, was giving an entertainment, and in the gift distribution did not come up to his promises. The audience, in consequence, broke the gangway through the theatre, and destroyed chairs, etc., portions of which were thrown at the conjurer, who escaped precipitately by the back door. A large mob followed him to his hotel hooting and bellowing in a disgraceful manner. Mr Seymour George addressed his Rodney constituents on Tuesday, at Aratapu Hall. There was a lare;<3 attendance. A unanimous vote of confidence and thanks was passed. Dr. Philson retires from the post of medical superintendent of the Auckland Hospital
At a meeting of the Auckland Presbytery yesterday it was resolved to go mto committee to consider the charges against the Rev. Moses Breach, of New Plymouth. Six charges of different acts of contumacy were formulated. Mr Breach did not appear. . The owners of the barque Gazelle, which waa recently seized by H.M.S. Customs for a breach of the Customs Act, stillMecline to accept the terms offered by the Government, and the 'vessel accordingly continues to lie at the anchorage in charge of the officers of the Customs Department.
