The Rotomabana came into Port Chalmers yesterday. Up to the time of her arrival there was no sign of any damage having been done to tbe vessel, which made no water. The passengers have forwarded a letter to the directors of the Union Company, referring in very favorable terms to the conduct of Captain Webster after the accident. Mr James Mills, the managing director of the Union Company, was on boird the vessel when the accident occurred.
By the ship Waitaki from London the General Government received fourteen ferrets out of fifteen shipped. They are to be sent up country to wage war against the rabbits.
