KUMARA.

October 31

A two-roomed cottage at the upper end of Seddon-street was quickly burned to the ground this morning at 2 o'clock. Barbara Weldon, a woman of ill fame, was living in the house at the time, and before assistance could be rendered the house was completely enveloped in flames, and the charred remains of the woman were afterwards discovered near the door leading to tbe street.
