October 26

At the annual sbow ot the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association

yesterday the weather wae beautifully fine, and the attendance very nearly 4000. Although the total number of entires was not equal to last year's the quality as a whole was well up to the mark. The principal prize-takers in sheep were W. C. Teschemaker, B. Elworthy, J. Pearson, J. S. Rutberford, New Zealand Land Company, the Hon. Mr Holmes, and Jno. Reid. In cattle Jno. Reid took the majority of prizes. R. Matthews secured the champion medal for the best draught mare. All classes of horses were well represented, as also were agricultural implements. In the latter Reid and Gray, and P. and D. Duncan were as usual well to the fore.
