DUNEDIN.
October 20. In the District Court to-day Henry Wilson recovered £200 damages from George and Mary Clarke for the loss of his eye. The defendant's wife threw a fork at her husband, but it struck the plaintiff, a lad, destroying his eye. Over 100,000 shares have already been applied for in the Equitable Insurance Company. The share closes on November I. Mr Farnie, a teacher in the Normal school, who was recently given three months' notice by the Education Board for having written a letter to the newspapers, but on expressing his willingness to obey certain rules laid down by the Board on such matters, was permitted to enter the Board's service again, although no allowed to retain his former position, was appointed by tbe Board yesterday to a higher position in the Normal school than that which he previously held.
