GREYMOUTH.

There has been a strike amongst the coalheavers in the Coalpit Heath Company's mine since Monday morning. The men want an alteration in tbe working hours so as to work eight hours below without a break, instead of nine hours with a break of an hour for refreshment. The company take the stand that if the men decline to conform to the old arrangement they may seek employment elsewhere.
