The banquet to Mr MeKenzie, M.H.R., last night at Palmerston was a great success. One hundred and fifty gentlemen were present, including Messrs Montgomery, Macand-iew, Barron, Steward, Bracken, Fish, Duncan, and Stout. The Episcopalian Synod have ruled Mr Graham's election as member for Port Chalmers informal. This is the case in which the returning officer struck out all the votes of the opposing candidate till he and Mr Graham were equal, and then gave bis casting vote for the latter.
