INVERCARGILL.

October 12. A fatal railway accident occurred at Gore yesterday. A little boy five years old, named Bowie, was run over by a brake van during shunting. He was brought to the Invercargill hospital by special train, but no operation was performed, as it was evident he could not recover, having both thigbs and one arm badly broken, as well as internal injuries. He died shortly after admission in the presence of bis father, who is at present a patient in the hospital, and who was employed as surface man on the line. Great sympathy is felt for the parents of the boy.
