FOOTBALL.

Sydney v. Wellington.

(BY TELEGRAPH )

Wellington, September 30,

The return football match between tbe Sydney team and Wellington was played yesterday. A strong N.W. wind was blowing all day, with threatening «howers. A half-holiday was proclaimed in town, but that was not sufficient to draw a large attendance on the ground, only about 700 persons being present. The match was played in two spells of forty-five minutes each, and a rattling game ensued, but the Wellington men were overmatched, and the visitors secured a victory by 8 points to nil.
