WANGANUI.
September 30. Major Kemp has addressed the following letter to the Herald : - Friend,— At a ineetiug of the council held at Ranana on the 29th ultimo it was resolved that, should any person connected with the Muriniotu Company, whether it be their half-caste interpreters, who understand both languages, or those deceitful persons concerned in Murimotu, or the lawyers acting on behalf of the Government, or others connected therewith, persist to come within our boundaries of Wanganui and Murimotu, they will be violently turned back. Enough. From your friend, Major Kemp. Joseph Vera Cardoza, holder of a New Zealand wine license, was sued before Mr Ward, R.M., to-day with exposing wine after 10 p.m. The accused is a fruiterer, and said he was selling perishable goods, but admitted the fact of tho wine being on view. He was fined 10s and coats. His Worship paid he must put the wines out of aight after 10 o'clock. The vital statistics for the quarter are —Births 93, marriages 25, and deaths
19. The births show an increose of 26 over the corresponding quarter of last year.
