WELLINGTON.

September 30. The Government have since the close of the session of Parliament received a large number of applications for complete copies of the statutes of 1882, but although the Government printing office machines have been kept constantly at work, and the assistance of private offices secured as far as possible, a fortnight more will certainly be required to complete tbe work. The session's statutes will fill nearly 900 pages, and they will be published in two volumes. The consolidation measures represent a large proportion of the bulk, but do not account for the exceptional increase in size. The statutes of 1880 occupy 279 pages, and 1881 take 369 pages, against the nearly 900 pages of the late session.
