ARRIVALS. September. 2—Arawata, s.s., from Melbourne via Southern ports and Wellington. Passengers—Miss Moore ; Mrs Anderson ; Messrs Goldsclimitt, Combs, Blythe, Steward, Henderson, Davine, Skelton, Pell, and Anderson.

September. 2 —Arawata, s.s., for Sydney via Poverty Bay and Auckland. Passengers—Misses Williams and Bacon ; Mesdames Partington, Modley, and Coleman j Messrs Partington, Motela, Buck, Bishop, Stub Us, Hughes, Ormond, R. Holt, Ruddock, F. B. Turner, A. Mann, and S. M'Gee. .

The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Arawata, Capt. Chatiield, arrived here at 4.15 p.m. on Saturday frem Southern ports and Melbourne, and -was at once tendered for mails and passengers by the Boojum, and for cargo by the ketch Admiral. The following is a report of her passage, kindly furnished by Mr D. Dalgleish, her purser : —Left Sandridge railway pier at 3 p.m. on the 23rd ult., cleared Port Philip Heads at 5.30 p.m. same day, and experienced light airs and calms during the next two days, thence she had light southerly winds, and arrived at the Bluff at 1 p.m. on the 27th ; called at the intermediate ports, and left Wellington at 11 p.m. on Friday, and arrived here as above. The outward mails and passengers were taken off to the steamer shortly after 6 o'clock, and at about 8 o'clock she proceeded on her passage to Sydney via Gisborne and Auckland. The steamer Maori, Capt. H. Anderson, is to leave for Mobaka and Wairoa at 12 o'clock to-night, taking a full cargo. The p.s. Manaia, Captain Baxter, is expected to leave for Wairoa at 12 o'clock fcO'Blght. The steamer Kiwi, Captain Campbell, is expected to leave Wellington for this port to-night, and may be looked for here on Wednesday morning. The Union Company's s.s. Boojum is to leave for Wairoa at 12 o'clock to-night, taking passengers and cargo. The s.s. Te Anau, which left here at 1 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, arrived at Wellington at 8.30 a.m. yesterday. The lighters Sir Donald, Three Brothers, and Admiral discharged their cargoes at the breastwork this morning, transhipped out of the Mahinapua, Te Anau, and Arawata respectively.

(BY CABLE.) Mei/bourne, September 4. _ Arrived, Union Company's new steamship Wairarapa from London (sailed July 18). She made the voyage in 43 days 4 hours actual steaming.
