CONSTANTINOPLE.
September 1. News is to hand from the scene of hostilities in Thessaly that overtures were made by tbe Turks for a compromise, but the proposal was rejected by the Greeks, and fighting between the two forces continues in the neighborhood of Dagair. September 2. Successful efforts bave been made by the Greek and Turkish Governments to put a stop to the fighting which for some days past has occurred in Thessaly between the subjects of the two Powers. Hostilities have now ceased pending diplomatic negotiations for the settlement of the dispute.
