The Queenstown correspondent of the Star reports an important discovery in Bulleti's claim at Skippers. A reef three feet thic t, yieldiug one ounce to the ton, was found at a depth of one thousand feet.
An important sale of runs was held yesterday by the Government auctioneer. The total amount of rental realised ao the result of the sale was £9000, or an average of 8d vet acre, which is about three times the amount they are at present bringing in. The runs were educational reserves, and the sale was on behalf of the School Commissioners of Otago and the High School Board of Governors.
A miner named Ravenswood met with a very painful accident at Naseby on Wednesday. He was breaking down the face in his claim, and fell with the earth, a crowbar he had been using penetrating completely through a portion of his body near the groin, inflicting a wound which it is a miracle did not at once prove fatal. He is progressing favorably.
