MELBODRNE. December 27. The cricket match between elevens of Victoria and New South Wales was concluded to-day, and resulted in a victory for Victoria by two wickets. The New South Wales eleven in their second innings, which they had followed on, scored 215 runs. Victoria then made the required number of runs with the loss of nine wickets, and thus won the match as already stated. SYDNEY. December 27. Another case of small-pox has occurred at Woolloomooloo. BRISBANE. December 27. It is stated that Mr Archibald Archer will in all probability shortly be appointed to the Colonial Secretaryship rendered vacant by the election of Sir Arthur Palmer to the Presidency of tbe Legislative Council. The portfolio is being temporarily held by the Hon. Thomas Mcllwraitb, the Premier.
