The Agent-Generalship for Victoria in London has been offered to Mr Murray Smith. He has, however, declined the appointment It is announced that the Government has declined to co-operate with the other Australian colonies and New Zealand in the measures which are being taken to induce the Government of the Uoited States to reduce the duty levied on wool imported from the Australian colonies.
