December 12. A decidedly anti-Irish feeling is spreading in England in consequence of tbe cowardly outrages and intimidations systematically practised in Ireland. Mr Ellis, Lord Mayor of London, has opened a fund for the assistance of the Property Defence Association in Ireland. A terrible explosion has occurred in a coal mine, belonging to the Coker Oil Company at Serang, Belgium, by which sixty-six miners were killed. A serious railway accident occurred today in the North London railway line. Three trains came into collision at the Cannoubury station, and seven passengers were killed and sixty injured. Two soldiers named Woodhead and Northcote have been sentenced to death at the Dublin Criminal Court for the murder of one Bandman at the Curragh. A shocking disaster has occurred at Pittsburg, the capital of Allegheny, County Pensylvania. A large house caught fire, and twenty of the inmates perished in the flames. A grand concert was recently given in Berlin by Madame Elmorad (nee Maggie Meusier, of Melbourne), who performed several selections on the piano. The correspondent of the Times epeaks of the style Bbc displayed as highly creditable to the musical talent of Australia.
