December 12,
The Supreme Court opens to-morrow. The criminal business comprises two cases of arson, one of forgery and uttering, four of theft and false pretences, and one of sodomy. There are two civil cases. Tbe locally owned barque Garymede, 580 tons, wilh 300 tons of coal on board, was brought alongside the wharf this morning to take in ballast from the trucks. This is the largest vessel that has yet been alongside. Rain is a good deal wanted on the coast. There wa? a slight shower yesterday. Owing to the cool spring the fruit, etc., is backward, and from the same cause the dry weather has not been so injurious as it otherwise would have been. The crops are looking well generally.
