December 12. The declaration of the poll for Thorn-
don took place to-day. There was no alteration in the numbers, and Mr Levin was declared elected. Mr Dwan, the defeated candidate, made strong remarks about the local morning paper, and intimated that further action would be taken in the matter. His remarks referred to a letter which appeared in the Times on the morning of the election.
