A cricket match between the English team and twenty-two of the Northern district was commenced at Newcastle yesterday. The Englishmen in their first innings scored 118, and at the close of the day's play the twenty-two had scored 34 for the loss of twelve wickets.
In the Legislative Assembly last night the Attorney-General, in reply to a question, said that legal proceedings would be instituted without delay in connection with the Mil burn Creek affair.
