THE CHINESE AND CAPTAIN RUSSELL.
[To tho Editor of the Daily TELEQiurn.] Sic, —As, Captain Russell has confessed that he stated in the House that a few Chinese might be foand of use in the larger cities to perform menial work, which Europeans would not care to do, may I ask Captain Russell what kind of menial worK it ia that a European does not care to do ? Furthermore, allow me through the medium of your valuable journal to call the attention of every working man in Hawke's Bay to " Sheepowner's " letter in your issue of the 23rd. That letter, Sir, speaks volumes, and ought in itself to convince every working man that Captain Russell is not a fit and proper person to represent their interest in Parliament. Hoping Mr Sutton may head the poll in Hawke's Bay is the earnest wish of A Hast.kgs Man. November 25, 1881.
