NOMINATIONS FOR MAORI M.H.R.'s.

There were four nominations of candidates for the reprerentation of the East Coast Maori electoral district to-day, namely, Henare Tomoana of Hawke's Bay, William Rodgers (half-caste) of Te Arawa, VYi Peri, of Poverty Bay, and Paretini Ngata of Waiapu. Capt. Preece as Returning Officer conducted the proceedings, which passed off with much less excitement than at the last elections.

[BY TELEGRAPH.] Russell, November 24. The following are the nominations for the Maori members of Parliament: Hone Mahi Tawhai, Huni Tawhinga, and Plore Rewetu. The show of hands was in favor of Huni Tawhinga. Cambridge, November 24. Four candidates were nominated, namely, Major Te Wheora, Hamiore Mangakahia, William Hughes (halfcaste), and Mita Kaiaka.
